These terms cover the Beside app and this website. Beside is operated by Beside Birth (“Beside”, “we”). By using Beside, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Who can use Beside

Beside is for people in the United States who are 18 or older, or the age of majority where they live.

Information, not medical advice

Beside offers educational information to help you learn and prepare. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from your provider. Always talk with your provider about your own health and your baby’s. If you think you or your baby may be having an emergency, call 911 right away.

Your account

You can sign in with Google or with an email address and password. Please keep your sign-in details private, and let us know if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete your account at any time from the You page in the app.

Paid access

Beside offers a one-time purchase of $49.99 for one year of full access. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. When your year ends, your account goes back to free, and your plan and notes stay viewable. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Gifts

You can buy a year of Beside as a gift. The recipient’s year starts when they open the gift, and unopened gifts never expire. Please only send gifts to people who would be glad to receive them.

Refunds

Our Refund Policy explains when refunds are available. A refund or payment dispute ends the matching year of access.

Using Beside respectfully

Please don’t misuse Beside. That means not breaking the law, not trying to get into other people’s accounts or our systems, not interfering with how Beside works, not sending spam or unwanted gifts or shares, and not copying or reselling Beside’s content without permission. We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.

Sharing your plan

Sharing your birth plan is always your choice. You decide who to share with, and you can stop sharing at any time. Please share only with people you trust.

Provider listings

Provider search results come from Google. Beside doesn’t check, recommend, or endorse any provider, and we can’t promise the listings are complete or up to date. Please choose your care team carefully.

Beside’s content

Beside, including its lessons, design, and name, belongs to Beside Birth. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. What you enter in the app stays yours.

The service as-is

We work hard to keep Beside helpful and running well, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Beside Birth is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Beside. Our total liability for any claim about Beside is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and change the last revised date. If you keep using Beside after an update, the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
